Radar Towers Worldwide
Our radar towers have been installed all over the world, including the UK, Europe, Africa, South America, South East Asia and the Middle East. This has involved designing highly stressed structures for climates varying from Troms in Norway, which is well inside the Arctic Circle, to Harare in Zimbabwe. The deflection limits on these types of structures are very low and the radar loads are high. Hence the frame of the cabin is a major structural element, transferring the radar loads to the tower.
The majority of radar tower specifications require structural cabins to house the turning gear and electrical equipment. Hence, we have become experts in the manufacture of high specification fitted out cabins.
Our range of radar towers includes a 3-sided parallel construction based around the FL300 & a 4-sided tapered one based on the TT40 both accessible by ladder. We also have the 'Watchman' tower, again based around the TT40, but it is fitted with an external staircase.
