As a Credit Manager for Trojan, you will be for the management of the credit department’s activity. You will maintain the Credit and Collections process for the entire company and interface effectively with approximately 100 customers/Master Distributors. In addition, you will process and verify applications for credit and oversee process of payment on overdue accounts. The Manager of Credit is also a versatile team player comfortable with reconciliations and general Accounts Receivable duties as well as collections. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage activities of Accounts Receivable Clerk
- Oversee Collections on all past due accounts
- Develop and maintain company’s Credit Policies and Procedures
- Research and resolve customer problems to facilitate prompt payment of accounts
- Maintain BaaN System with relation to Customer Credit Limits and Terms
- Advise Sr. Management as to credit worthiness of customers and recommend initial credit limits and terms for new “on account” customers
- Update customer credit files on a periodic basis
- Recommend credit limits for all customers
- Pursue collection efforts through all necessary channels as appropriate (ie. Collection agencies, Legal remedies, etc.)
- Maintain Credit Scoring Database and Updates
- Oversee preparation of daily cash deposit and maintain Accounts Receivable system
- Run customer invoices as necessary
- Follow quality system procedures.
- Duties not limited to Credit…will handle reconciliations and general Accounts Receivable duties as well as collecting money.
- Supervises approximately 1-2 direct reports.
- Evaluates performance, provides development feedback, and completes annual and semi-annual performance reviews.

Here's what is required:

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the credit & collections field

Bachelors Degree or 8 – 10 years equivalent experience

Ability to effectively communicate via verbal and written methods

Sound accounting and mathematical skills required.

Must be fully competent with Microsoft Office, and high level proficiency with MS Excel. SAP or BaaN experience expected.

Ability to work under general supervision; with certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Sound credit & collections practices

Ability to analyze customer financial position as it relates to creditworthiness

Sound accounting, analysis & problem resolution skills

Must be effective team player, versatile enough to assist other Trojan Accounting and Finance functions as appropriate.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have ability to influence persuasively and be persistent in collection efforts.
