| Here are two photos of
the "original look alike" AC mains psu that Geoff made. The box is made from
mild steel and laser cut. It was a simple matter to bend the various angles
using a vice and a couple of blocks of wood. Tapping gently with a hammer
the bends are easily formed. The original psu has a paxolin mains plug board
on the front but in Geoff's there is a paxolin board but this is fitted with
a pair of sockets to take a xtal. Inside the psu is a transistorised xtal
oscillator and when the xtal is plugged into the sockets it oscillates and
can be used for netting the Paraset.
The schematic of the oscillator will
appear in the schematics section of this web site soon.
The drawings for this psu to be laser
cut will appear in the appropriate section of this web site soon. Your friendly
laser cutter should be able to cut the metal work from the drawings
directly!
